Start of a new painting.

I started a double portrait today. It will be a pretty good size painting, 32x34 inches. It will have two seated figures. Here is the first portrait. The eyes need some more work!

New portrait.

I started working on this portrait last week. I am really enjoying the high key palette. I am excited about the new direction in my work. I am working on a series of portraits (double and single) that deal with the dream/surreal world. I will post pictures soon! Here is this for now...

Shane just finished this piece for IAO's annual Biting the Apple Show. This years theme is Cirque Fantastique. This is also Shane's "Whimsy" painting for As Seen by Three.

It is an oil painting on panel. 33x48.

Here is "Whimsy" so far...

Our As Seen by Three project is coming along. We have all (Shane, Wesley Young, our writer and dear friend, and I) finished "Loss." I have started working on "Whimsy" and Shane has started working on "Fear." We are planning on eight different human emotions. Wes has written a bit more about our As Seen by Three project on our Enid Creative Collective blog.

"Loss" is complete!

I finally got back home after being away for a month! I was so excited to work! I finished the "Loss" piece for our As Seen By Three project.

Shane has started his "Loss" painting. I am excited to see how it turns out!

He has "Whimsy" figured out and has already had a photo shoot with our friend, and fellow artist Kim Schepperley.

I am currently looking for a model to work with on my "Whimsy" piece.

I have sketches and ideas ready for several of the emotions for our As Seen By Three project. I am very happy to be back in the studio!

Model Shoot

Things have been busy here in the Studio. I am currently working on a portrait commission for our friend Greg. That is going well, I finished the guitar yesterday and part of the shirt. Shane is working on a still life commission. I will post pictures very soon!

Shane and I hired a model to come out and work with us Saturday! I am very excited! I did a lot of sketching last night and came up with several ideas I would like to photograph. I will post pictures.

Start of a new project

I am working on a new piece for a huge, really cool project that Shane and I are collaborating with our good friend Wes. More information on that will be coming soon, but for now here is "Loss."

Shane's new painting "Rising"

I have been eager for Shane to finish this piece. It got pushed back because of commissions and other important things, but this week he finally finished it! It is Beautiful. It is an oil painting on panel. The dimensions are 19x33.

I am starting a new piece today. I have the drawing in and I will post pictures soon. Also my lovely husband cut down some board today and we are going to gesso them so we can start to paint. He is also working on a new painting. In the meantime here are a couple of drawings that Shane just finished! SOLD.

More progress...

We are back from our trip. It was so amazing. The people there are so nice! We had a great time with our family! The recovery from the time change was pretty awful, but now we are back to normal and working again! Here is more progress on my painting. I had a photo shoot with Kacy today, she is great!!

Progress

I finished the arm and did a lay in on the hand yesterday. I will post an image later. I am excited for our trip to Japan next week. Shane's brother Chris is getting married and we will be there for 11 days! I have new painting ideas that require Japanese landscapes, so it worked out perfectly!

Progress on my painting and Ben Leroy

I have done some more work on this double person portrait. It is my first layer of paint. I am still going to go over it when I have the other portrait in.

Here is Ben Leroy. We need to varnish it, but the painting is done!

Shane started this painting yesterday. It is a painting for our friend Alicia. He is working on it today, so I will post the progress.

Ben Leroy Painting

I am finishing up a portrait commission for our dear friends, Greg and Rose Leroy. It is a portrait of his son Ben who is a musician in Hollywood. Greg wanted a piece that both Shane and I worked on, so I painted the portrait and hands and Shane painted the guitar and clothing.

As soon as I get the OK from Greg and Rose, I will post the image.
